Night on the town

Daniel and I love going to the opera whenever we can. Recently we went to see "The Pearl Fishers" performed by the Utah Opera at Capitol Theater. Although it's probably not my favorite opera, I was again impressed by anyone that can project their voice and make it sound as pretty as those opera singers do. I was also impressed by the choreography and sat entranced every time the dancers came out.

Daniel loved the orchestra pit and the lights

Every time I see someone with their pants really low, I think they have really short legs.

Christmas sweats

Family came into town and we had a lot of fun hanging out with them as well as decorating gingerbread houses.

The gingerbread neighborhood.

Koa added the solar panels, Daniel made the airplane and I did the M&Ms.

Here Comes Santa Clause

My work had a "Santa Saturday" where you could come and get a picture with Santa as well as get some juice and donuts. Jade didn't quite understand the concept of Santa or the importance of him giving her presents. She was mostly frozen in fear, but somehow we were able to get her on Santa's lap and take a picture. We then wandered around the well decorated Hale Center Theater in West Valley and she grew fatigued from all the smiling I had her do.

CDC

I've always had this dream of working at the CDC. (Always = since my freshman year of college and when I determined that I wanted to go into Public Health). So when I found out that the place we would be staying for Jon's wedding was only a mile away, I decided to book a tour. Unfortunately, they don't let you see the actual CDC buildings, but you can view their museum. It was neat to see all the various public health out reaches of the CDC over the years and once we got past the somewhat rude and suspicious security guards, I really enjoyed the museum.

Governments and monopolies at their best.

It's a microscope!

This wall of germs looked a lot like a climbing wall.
Turns out they didn't like it when you actually used it as a climbing wall.

Atlanta

We went to Atlanta for my brother's wedding. Jon and Jen were gorgeous and happy and it was a lot of fun. I love seeing family and I love hanging out with little kids, which I did a lot of. I also go to see my good friends, the Barnes and we went to Korea town where we ate delicious food and bought super cute things. I'm going to have to find my way back to Atlanta soon.
